Nowt in Hotten Courier or Weatherfield Gazette , "fake news",
The only reason they may want to own the stadium is to be able to take loans out and use the stadium as collateral .
The loans repayments will be paid back from the club's own funds not the owners funds .
This is exactly what they did at OGC Nice with a whopping interest rate attached .
This ownership will not use one penny of their own money to invest either in the squad or the stadium .
I'd burn the stadium down personally before let these feckers get their hands on it .
I probably shouldn't have written that last paragraph because in all reality I wouldn't do it .
However it makes my blood boil to think these feckers get their hands on Oakwell and total control of the club .
At this moment in time the split ownership that Pat Cryne introduced is proving to be a smart move and I will take this opportunity to thank the man for his forward thinking .
What it's done is to expose groups like PMG and their business model which is to place the risk of financial failure on the club and not themselves .
Absolutely nobody deserves to profit in any business if they don't risk money themselves .
Invest yourselves and profit from it then fair do's .
Patrick said on a few occasions - and I heard him say it myself - “if you want to lose money, buy a football club”.
I can’t see PMG making vast amounts of money from Barnsley - but fingers crossed they will do.
Because if they sell the club for vast amounts - then obviously the club is worth vast amounts i.e. successful.
There's little doubt in my mind that in the summer when the ownership wake up to the fact over 50% of fans aren't renewing their ST's this will be turned around on the supporters .
Conway and the even lesser spotted one will no doubt find their voices through the local media .
" Turning your backs on the club at a time of crisis "
" Do the Barnsley public want a football club "
The threats will then begin to wind the club up etc etc .
Absolutely no responsibility will be accepted by themselves .
These type of people never clean their own mess up .
They will disappear in to the night like the thieves they are .
It will be left to the people of this town and its fan base to pick up the pieces and plot a route back .
It always is .
After stripping OGC Nice of it's best players--the last one sold being St Maximim to Newcastle--Conway accumulated a transfer surplus of £41 million over two years.
Conway sold Nice to INEOS for £90 million. having bought it for £30 million.
The £60 million profit went to Conway and the £41 mii transfer surplus "disappeared" in creative accounting and paying off loans from a finance company linked to New City Capital.
Nice were left with very little and have now recovered under INEOS.
