Yes, apologies....James Jones, not Billy...You have to give these clubs credit for trying their best to get back in the league whereas we are doing our best to get relegated...

'It's all about money'
Yes and on that note you need to think about if we have sold our 4 best players NG,Pickering, Dale and Kirk and the club use this as a contributing factor to our poor season and then say we can’t compete with clubs who are paying a paltry 50K for a player where has the money gone from these 4 sales ? Because it most certainly is not being spent on the first team.
I said many years ago that transfer revenues should be hypothocated...OK reserved...;) so that 50% was allocated to the first team squad and 50% to the academy and had that been the case we could still have a decent squad but unfortunately it was Dario that said we only exist because of the academy and why almost all of the transfer income went there and not the first team as he thought one woulld look after the other...I think I read that 20m pounds has come through the books with less that about 10% of that spent on incoming players...With the greatest respect to DG and the then Chairman that was nonsense and actually allowed someone to take some of that money for their own failed businesses..
I suggest we could have still had a few milion in the bank today to sign some good players when the academy was not producing the right quality as indeed it hasn't this time around...It annoying that academy graduates seem to think we owe them a living and won't sign contracts when so much has been spent on them....Its why I think its time to get rid of the academy all together and just have a basic after schools thing with a one or two coaches on hand...ie like many league clubs actually....We are wedded to a 20th century idea that has passed its sell by date...imo of course...
BTW didn't someone say the lease at RH was coming to an end shortly and if so any idea where they will go then for training and coaching of players and the kids? In the old days they trained on the Gresty Road pitch and carried a coal sack on their back up Mow Cop.....;)
I wonder how much RH was costing us?
Correct Mike, leaving there is definitely on the horizon. I believe that our lease terms are very favourable towards us but Reaseheath College have said there is no chance of us extending it. They need the land for themselves. What cost for a relocation?
It is disappointing that the board failed to mention this when they were promising significant investment in the first team to bridge the gap and make us more competitive in league 1 just another pack of lies (of which they care continually guilty of) if you note they promise the earth every year whilst the season ticket drive is on and deliver absolutely nothing, they take the fans for fools and the fans allow them to do this. I have said this before and I will say it again unless this board get a grip the academy in its current guise will be the downfall of the club. and I will spell it out for everybody who does not understand WE CANNOT AFFORD IT !!!!!
