1. I really like HA's enthusiastic "let's get into 'em attitude", which matches up nicely with DKE - provided they don't get themselves sent off.
2. He looks to make things happen. Quite a few ambitious balls go astray - but eggs & omelettes folks...
Above maybe helps the general defensive effort. Hopefully HA will improve as the games go on, but he's already making a useful contribution and it's a definite win/win situation for him/Notts the better he plays.
You are getting closer.
Well that quickly turned into a dull guessing game. Let's leave it as 1959s post is far more interesting and on brand.
I’ve always been a big fan of DKE, I don’t think he’s hardly had more than a couple of bad games for us since his time at Notts, you just know what you’re getting with him. He’s more suited on the left as he can’t cross on his right foot so I think he’s remit is to cut in and probably stay more defensive than Richardson on the right to keep some balance so we don’t get totally exposed.
I think he is brilliant and has gives the team that much needed aggression. But given the fact that he was only given a one year contract and as only come into the side via injuries, i dont think he figures to highly in IBs plans. Which in my opinion would be a big mistake...
I think DKE is also good in the air and wins the ball out the air far more than some taller players. More of a spoiler kind of player and no nonsense, and those are good qualities to have at this level, especially away from home where you need to be able to battle and grind out wins.
Well I hope IB sees what he’s bringing, there’s probably some games hes more suited to and some not but I hope IBs learning that, same with Rawlinson. We have to adapt at times (mainly away), as old Ardley said, earn the right to play, I.e win your physical battles and then get the ball down and play, it’s easier at home with a massive watered pitch as on the whole we can play around teams and keep it all day, but we all know that’s not the case away.
DKE is definitely better in 'those games' great enthusiasm, much needed aggression, good engine etc, needed away from home. However then it isn't a battle then his decision making, crossing ability, and lack of willingness to advance are displayed for all to see.
My thoughts on DKE have changed and fluctuated over time, was impressed to begin with, then I viewed him as too limited (thanks in part to Kelton lol) but recent reports and his showing at Roots Hall means he's back in favour and impressing.
Increased physicality has been needed throughout the season and he bring itnfor sure. But he's definitely had more than a "couple of bad games" and that's just from the limited games I've seen the last couple of seasons ;) :D
