I really don't get it, Lyon out of the attack so the Aussies resort to the short stuff, no problem, you're not going to be bowled or LBW from a short ball, so a bit of ducking and diving and leaving well alone until the storm blows itself out, which it will in fairly quickly But no, Root, Pope and Duckett all fall for it, while Brook got away with it by the skin of his teeth. It took Stokes to use some common sense and show how it should be done. Once again we let them off the hook.
