The Barnsley game was superb. Stewart Barrowclough was the only winger I have ever seen get the better of Gerry Forest.

Crikey. I remember Peter Barnes’ goal like it was yesterday. He started his run in his own half and jinked through half our team before slotting the ball in the net at The Railway End. What a goal. Not a skinny lad either.

Yes it was a brilliant game, remember Breckin scoring a screamer holding his shin pad in his hand and having it disallowed!
I went to Maine Rd for the first game and Dave Smith missed an absolute sitter in the last minute so we had the replay.
