Is winning the do and end all though ? If England did manage to win, playing this dour, un-entertaining " football" would this justify this style and we could be sentenced to it forever ?

Lincs....keeping the ball rolling so to speak, what if we did win it by using this style, so long as we win it does it really matter? Yes, it's been a shambles of a performance so far but stats wise, like Cayton has shown, we ain't lst a game yet. I say yet but I fear one's just around the corner if he doesn't change the starting line up soon.
You could see the lift in our approach when Gordon/Palmer entered the game. Has he got the balls to start without Saka/Kane?
There’s some interesting theories on here but they’re a little difficult to take seriously when there are a plethora of misplaced passes and incessantly stroking the ball around at a snails pace in every game so far.
It’s like having to watch extended games in Rufc,s season just finished. If we just had half a dozen refereeing blunders as well it would be like groundhog day
We certainly can improve but that’s what we need to do….vastly improve. Other countries won’t be as lenient as the group stage ones
From what I have seen most other countries have problems too with some quite poor games in the final round.
Thing is, I've been watching tournos avidly since 78 and I can't remember a year when England played well in the first 3 games. I'd be much more surprised if they did, so not quite as dismayed as what most are saying. But very worried by lack of energy and movement off the ball. But wouldn't surprise me at all if we clicked in the knock out against better teams that play more progressive football and leave more gaps to play into. Although the way Denmark pressed and knocked us out of possession, and our inability to reciprocate was very concerning.
Wouldn't say we're dead and buried. Many of us remember fondly Bobby Robson's 90 finals team but they stunk the place out until we got a couple of penalties against Nigeria. Then clicked.
Doesn't look hugely promising thus far but I can't say we're anything more or less than I expected. Hope we will click on Sunday
By the way, as the winner of the just completed group e only have 4 points, does that mean that they will play the best 3rd placed team instead of us on 5 points? How the **** does it work?
Maybe England has looked poor because we're trying to break teams down who are sitting deep. The better the team the better we may play. Just grasping at straws eh
