I can recall when Don and Bob Worthington first signed for Notts and made their debut on a rainy Thursday evening reserve game at the Lane under the “candles”. His class stood out immediately and I would agree with the comments that he was and still is the best player to have graced a Notts shirt. He would never shirk a tackle and certainly cajoled his teammates when they gave less than 100% effort.
