Okeeffe and Phillips make efl team of the week.
Well done to them both.
Clarke will play the formation and type of football that he feels will win or get us a result in each individual game.
Each opponent and their style of play brings a different conundrum to solve, so personnel will be rotated and formations tweaked as Clarke has already done this season. It's as simple as that.
We saw against Mansfield in the opening game that Clarke is not afraid to make early changes if necessary.
That's called the 'football manager way'.
Only person I can see having a big cigar pushed into his hand would be Collins - as a goodbye present as they hustled him out of the door.
Pass and Move didn’t call it right.
But Mladen did - in his interview soon after he had sacked Collins.
Bit of advice Animal - tha would be better off listening to Mladen.
I have said this before and will say it again, given that Collins was given a far weaker squad , his captain sold on the last day of the window and thrown under the bus by our owners history will show he did a remarkable job getting us to the play offs, no matter how many times fans either call him or praise him the history book has been written and cannot be changed , when Clarke
"s tenure comes to an end history will again show how it went , lets hope he can match or even exceed the superb efforts of Collins , he has been given better tools to do the job , hopefully he goes one better and gets us back to the championship , we all want him to !!!.
Yes the history books have been written.
And it will say - the directors sacked Collins because he was garbage - probably the worst manager / HC Barnsley has had in decades.
He didn’t know or refused to adapt to the Barnsley Way of playing - instead he introduced his own system of tippy tappy possession football that bored the pants off all those watching.
It has also been proven that members of the 1st Team that left the club after the Collins season have gone on to join Championship clubs or top 1st Division clubs.
With a squad as good as that - did Collins do well just to finish 6th ???
Did he hell.
Hence the reason he was flung out of the door.
If he was any good then would they have sacked him when they did - with just one match until the end of the season ???
That in itself shows what the directors thought of Collins.
And Mladen more or less said that in his interview after Collins was sacked - that they had no faith in Collins winning the playoffs.
Devaney in the few games available to him showed a glimpse of how the team should have been playing throughout the season.
The directors stuck with Collins far far too long obviously hoping he would change.
And they have to take responsibility for doing that.
His appointment cost the club a real chance of promotion and as such the directors have lost £££millions in potential income.
However - they have redeemed themselves by appointing DC - who clearly understands the Barnsley Game Model.
Early doors - but the football played now is chalk and cheese to what we had to endure last season.
It’s better organised, more direct and more exciting to watch now - and we are only at the start of the season.
Stand up Morais, Schopp and Asbaghi.
The Directors first choice to replace Collins was Dominick Thalhammer. He flew in the day after Collins sacking, pre contract in hand, but, would you know it, we messed up on the paperwork and wasn't eligible to get a Visa.
It's good to discuss football with people who actually understand the game Nudger. No offence pal but to put it bluntly-tha talking absolute garbage. The nuances of the game completely escape you.
You could see Morais was at the forefront of changing the old style to the new style.
He had a good squad but he was trying to put round players into square holes eg McBurnie tracking back as a defender etc etc.
Stendel also suffered from the transition that was going on at the time.
As for Schopp and Ashbagi - we all know the influence Paul Conway had on the HCs during that season.
So blaming the HCs for that season is clearly an attempt to get Paul Conway off the hook.
Obviously SB continues to be a big admirer of his.
We all know what happened with Thalhammer.
And as per usual SB twists it so it gives him the opportunity to dump on the club - as he always dumps on the club.
