Yes, with hindsight I was a bit harsh there. I like Tsaroulla as a player. It?s just that 90% of what he?s being asked to do looks awkward because he?s trying to do it from the wrong side (yes the old wrong side/inverted web chestnut..). That is Maynard?s fault not NT?s. I?m sure if he?s given licence to go for it on the left we would see a better performance.

Going slightly off topic I fear we have lost 6 or 7 points already this season from mistakes arising from players losing the ball when they are struggling to get it under control as a result of being ?wrong sided?. In the end it will cost us promotion, and you never know when the opportunity will present itself again.

I don't think it's that. It's just that we've seen a similar pattern for the best part of a season now - great promise and it looking like he's carrying the attack, to poor end-product and the effort and threat-level then fizzling out. That can be on either side of the pitch.

Tsaroulla and Gordon puzzle me.
Were they really regular first-teamers in a promotion winning side last season? How important were they to Crawley? Because it's a little hard to believe.

What were the circumstances of them joining us...
Did they really turn down deals and decide to stay in L2 with us? Otherwise they'd both be L1 players now?

Such a shame about Whitaker's last 2 games.

I fear he might be unplayable for now. Rival coaches watch the games and they'll be looking at Whitaker, not how to stop him so much, but now how to exploit him to launch attacks, be ready to dispossess him and launch attacks from there.

Whitaker is being played too deep - or at least asked to come too deep to get the ball. Hes got potential and is really dangerous around the opposition box, but hes not comfortable yet dropping into his own half to get on the ball, which we seem intent on asking our number tens to do.

Things will never change whilst we keep playing players in positions that they are not comfortable in.. If the penny hasn't dropped by now then we may aswell kiss goodbye to any hopes of promotion this season. This will also apply to next season if SM is still here.. We have sent Riley Reynolds out on loan, when we are short of players. And he is probably better than most of those on the bench recently..

Tsaroulla left Johnson badly exposed and 2 on 1 too many times in first half. Whitaker and Grant anonymous, zero impact on the game. Hinchy lack of defensive awareness and didn?t do what a player in that position needs to do when their players dropped deep to far too much effective and success.

Lucky not to lose by more.

The day and enjoyment levels picked up big time once the full time whistle went
