Didzy Leaves Notts

It just confirms the policy upheld with DC. We make an offer that is considered our ceiling, the player rejects it, move on. A good wage reallocated on a younger player with a bit to spare makes absolute sense. All depends now on who comes in (I had thought Traore was AJ's replacement but could he be DM's (shudder!!)). A defining few weeks coming up.

The upside of that strategy was that we received a fee. This time we just have a bloody great hole , to accompany the other bloody great hole left by George Abbott.

Obviously I don't know how long this has been discussed between the two parties but I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is a complete shock to the Bros.

Hang on....!!! What about those that were saying DIdzy would stay once Maynard had gone because Maynard was 5hit3...!? I'm confused now !xxx

What a ridiculous notion. He's been a pro footballer for 20 years. He will have seen many managers depart. Many far more capable than Maynard

Taking the emotion out of it, we've got an increasingly injury prone 37 year old on a reported ?5-6k per week and we have no idea what he was asking for/what we offered.

Hopefully Didzy's departure will free up enough budget for 2 key players. It was a joy to watch him but we need to trust the Bros will have a plan.

I am worried that this, coupled with a relatively unpopular management choice and a poor start to the season and things will turn toxic very quickly.

Being pragmatic, you'd have to concede that there's a high chance he'd play less games next season and be out for longer spells, probably still worth a few points but an ever decreasing return. He does need to be properly replaced though. We really don't want to be reading posts throughout 25/26 insisting "we should never have let Didzy go" or "The only reason Notts haven't been in this situation trying to stay out of the relegation zone since winning at Wembley is because we had McGoldrick".

Maynard relied on him far too much last season. Now they both have gone. It's a problem that needs to be solved. I think it's a good thing he's gone tbh. Being pragmatic.
