With the news that Idah time out with a hamstring injury is now estimated at three months instead of seven months after scans, we will still need a loan striker in, Cullen is not the answer.
Kaelan Casey he returned to his parent club due to lack of game time, went straight out on loan again from West Ham. He played yesterday for Leyton Orient in League One.
-
Not sure what is happening with Bobby Wales but Cullen out of position replacing Vipotnik last Saturday and being preferred to Wales probably means he is going out on loan to get game time and toughen him up for next season.
With Idah out injured we are weak up front by rationing Vipotnik’s game time because of games so close together.
With 20 days of the transfer window gone already and the best of the players available already scooped up we will be looking at scraps again by the look of it.
-
Interest in Bailey Cadamarteri the Sheffield Wednesday striker apparently, he’s valued at 750 to a million quid.
Just two goals from 26 games this season though. Swansea, Millwall, Blackburn, Charlton and Stoke are reported to be after him.
-
-
He’s a pacy left winger who can also play on the right side. According to Swans Independent website he has travelled with the squad to Hull, so high hopes that he will play.
-
Goals, goals, please sign someone who can score goals, not pass the ball on to someone else like a hot potato, afraid to shoot when well placed. If Vipotnik is not scoring we are not winning. The injured back-up Idah has been a disaster of a buy (we were warned by Celtic fans) and a waste of seven million smackers.
Also we need a player that can beat his marker and cross a ball into the box that goes over the first line of defence, only Tymon can do this accurately.
Eight days left of the transfer window, countdown time.
-
Goals, goals, we need a goalscorer. If Vipotnik is not firing there’s no one else who can score consistently.
The injured Idah was a waste of seven million smackers, we were warned off him by Celtic fans, but red flags not heeded.
We need a right-back, we also need a winger who can beat a man and cross accurately into the box, Ronald can rarely do this.
Not sure about this inexperienced new youngster Nunes just signed on loan
-
Having splashed all our cash on a dud Adam Idah, we are restricted by FFP rules to what we can further spend in ratio to our income.
Which leaves us loan players but we are restricted to how many we can play. Casey has gone back, Nunes has come in, but we have two loanees not playing, Samuel’s-Smith injured and Benson who’s disappeared and not even picked as substitute.
Then there’s Yalcouye who has yet to show us any form after coming here with a big reputation.
We have a permanent signing Santos who was long term injured since last summer, then when he returned was not picked, they tried to transfer him to League One Reading but he failed a medical and we are now stuck with him.
The recruitment team must take the blame.
A Championship club can sign an unlimited amount of loan players but only five can be named in a matchday squad together.
Presently we have Samuel’s Smith, Yalcouye, Benson and Nunes, ideally there’s room for two more then as it stands.
-
As we come to the end of the window, it’s a nervous time for Swans fans who covet our best three players.
Vipotnik - West Ham, Burnley showing interest, plus there’s Galbraith and Tymon.
Key - Oxford showing interest.
Manuel Benson has gone back to Burnley after he failed to show any promise here.
Glory Nzingo has returned from his USA loan and moved to Irish side St Patrick permanently,
Do we really want to shoot ourselves in the foot to get some cash. We are 7 points from a relegation spot for goodness sake.
Without Vipotnik’s goals we would be bottom already.
Letting Key go to relegation rivals Oxford is another brainless idea.
-
If Key goes, Galbraith (if he’s still here) is stuck in the right-back position, with 36 year-old Ward, who has no pace, as cover, crazy.
