We had only one player, Hannibal, in the first half who tried to go forward with any conviction.
At half time whether it was Parker or someone else took the shackles off and we looked like a team who could compete, but being two goals down was a mountain and the team overcame that mountain to bring the score back to level terms, and were exceptionally unlucky with the VAR decisions.
It did appear to me that at 3-3 and VAR ruling Anthony offside, which did not appear to be a clear and obvious error by the referee, the team decided or more likely were instuctured to go back to revert to a defending formation leading to Brentford fourth. VAR again came to Brentford's aid by declaring Barnes handled the ball, the only thing about that which was clear and obvious was that Barnes appeared to move his arm backward to try to avoid any contact with the ball.
In his after match summary Parker complained the the home supporters were too critical of the teams performance at half time by booing. After our pitiful performance up to half time he needed to expect that he had again got it all wrong and the supporters had every right to show their disgust at him and his team selection, after all they had paid good money to watch this game.
To be honest I dont't know whether the game was ruined by Parker or VAR as neither seem fit for purpose.
