Notts 29-3
Don't post the live stream link today EP ;D
Not only did the ball slip through their fingers yesterday, but I fear so did the County Championship.
A fascinating last two days in prospect. Tomorrow looks like there could be a few weather interruptions, but a full final day renders a draw highly unlikely. If we can finish them off early leaving a target of around 225 I would be quietly optimistic. Once it climbs above the 250 mark it would look difficult. From what I've seen on the live stream it looks a tricky surface, but one that can be overcome with determination and good shot selection. A massive fixture from here, if we win the title would be ours to lose. If we bottle the run chase, we will be relying on results elsewhere to give us a chance in the final round of games.
Just read the cricinfo report on the day's play, and this bit sums up my thoughts:
"It would be easy to be wholly superlative about Barker's performance. That he was unplayable, that he made the ball swing around corners and made it seam off the pitch at right-angles. But he didn't. His two spells were from a bowler who was stretching Nottinghamshire's batters to their limits as opposed to taking them beyond them. Wearing them down and asking the same question over and over as opposed to blowing them away".
In this game the bowlers have played their part admirably, now the batsmen need to do the same.
