I take by this and your previous post on this subject you are a Unionist would that be fair comment ? And you have every right to be so.
So perhaps you could tell me where no other Unionist has been able to.
What exactly are the benefits of having someone else run your country ? And by running a Country I mean having all the fiscal powers needed to do that. And have a choice as to whether your Country is dragged out of a beneficial Market and into illegal Wars.
That is the complete opposite of what we should be doing ! Those who have campaigned all their adult lives for Independence know the potential of an Independent Scotland it's all in place.. Those who voted No don't know the real facts. That's why we must engage with former No voters not abuse them or disrespect them, If they are not won over we don't win it's as simple as that,
Of course there is a particular brand of Unionism ..The Union/Vangard bears type (I suspect that's who you may be referring to) They take their lead from another Countries politics, dogma, and ideologies, I'm with you on that fvck them. Be nice.
A lot of things have happened since 2014. For a start very few expected the 2014 result to be almost 45% (started at 27%) in favour. The pro-independence movement gained a lot of ground during that referendum campaign, That has now change to 50-50% on average, Brexit has also changed the playing field greatly. Also there was the COVID pandemic. While this caused social, political and economic ructions that few saw coming, it also illustrated the fact that Scotland had its own parliament, its own first minister, and could make its own rules, with different priorities and message. That impressed a lot of former No's ,Scotland’s ability to govern itself was more evident than ever before. And the most important thing is ..the demographics have changed ! Better together may have been able to scare the $hite of the auld yins but a new generation of Younger voters won't be so easy.
I saw you call another poster on here as having a defeatist attitude seems thats the message your giving out also, As I said if you want Independence you must engage former No voters,
4 folk I work with were no voters, 2 would now vote yes and the other two undecided, but admit leaning towards yes. Two of them openly admit they were lied too in 2014.
Not exactly conclusive proof of a shift in voting intentions of a potential referendum, but I was surprised when I asked the question last week.
Brexit is the biggie that changed two of their minds, that and BJ as a primeminister.
