Yes, to report the truth impartially, not interrogating people who don't conform to their view and let people who agree with them, just spout their views, unchallenged.

A minister has just told us that the new law when going on public transport is you must wear a face covering with 3 layers. Where is the ridiculing of how is this to be policed, are bus drivers going to be issued with scissors to cut the coverings up in order to count the layers, etc, etc? No, that minister just happens to be the first minister for Wales, who happens to Labour.

The likes of Munchetty, who 'earn' far more than the government ministers for 9 hours of tv, are just out to 'get' the ministers and see their own name in the stories.

I keep going back to the (broadcast) media treatment of two 'urinating' incidents recently - the BLM supporter peeing on Winston Churchill's statue? Reported in passing on the day, died a death as a news item thereafter. The 'Far right' (lol) guy wazzing on Keith Palmer's memorial? Milked to death, featured on every BBC News bulletin on 13th and 14th June. Utter bias (I'm BBC bashing again but C4 were as bad)

You don’t recognise the need for specific requirements as regards face coverings then, Ram?

Maybe we need to get past the idea that effective masks can be made from a grubby old t shirt or a pair of discarded Y fronts and the Welsh are being quite sensible.

The Churchill incident was full urination on the plinth. The PC Palmer incident was urination next to the memorial, not on it. Might that be why one story ran for longer?

It would possibly explain the exact opposite treatment.....

Watched Charlie on Breakfast this morning interviewing a Labour Shadow Minister. Having successfully failed to give specific answers she was eventually pushed into a corner.... name one thing you would do that the governemnt aren't. She did.

That is the sort of thing that should happen all the time. Not only on TV interviews but at theings like PMQs as well. It would make a refreshing turn if he was to actually answer the questions asked.

Remember the woman(koff) who climbed on the cenotaph and tried for all her worth to ignite the union flag?
No one tried to get her down or stop her.
Had that been in reverse and a far right ex service man(koff), the police would have tasered him. The press would have ran a 4 page "special" on the guy. Investigated his history/family/political leanings and camped outside the family home for weeks in case they catch anyone wearing black face etc.

Just imagine trying to do what she did in USA or China?

You don't get my point RA, every single rule or law is being picked to pieces by Munchetty and Co. The Labour first minister brings out a law, not advice, that is impossible to supervise and there is no scrutiny whatsoever. We all know that had Boris brought out the same thing, he would have been ridiculed.

I’m not commenting on Munchetty, Ram...she’s just another TV presenter far as I can tell.

My point is...there is a need for Covid protection masks to be effective. The well intentioned ‘cottage industry’ of mask production made from cast off clothing, or worse...the ‘cowboys’ who are manufacturing cheap ineffective masks are both completely counter productive, making wearers - and those adjacent to them - feel protected when they are nothing of the sort.

Masks need to be made to a specific standard if they are to be effective and that seems to be what the Welsh leadership is attempting to do.
The same is true in other walks of life...crash helmets for instance...or headlight deflectors when driving in Europe. Both are difficult to ‘police’ beyond the obvious question of ‘are they present’ but both are necessary for everyone’s safety and should, surely, be of an appropriate and specific quality.

Can only speak personally...but if Johnson showed the sort of clarity the Welsh apparently are I’d be much more impressed.
Did you know for instance that it’s only a couple of weeks since lockdown in Wales meant that residents weren’t allowed to move beyond a five mile radius of their homes? Didn’t see any Dorset style examples of crowded beaches on the Gower or at Harlech.

Whilst I'm talking about the many examples of the Munchetty show. When swimming pools were allowed to open, she spent considerable time agreeing with 1 pool owner that they should have been given 2 weeks notice to open.

Bizarrely, half an hour later, they went live to another lido, who had just let in their first customers. They didn't even question either of the owners as to why 1 could open and the other couldn't. Why should a business and its customers have to wait until disorganised businesses are given time to get ready?

Then we have 10 days notice of wearing face coverings in shops. Scandalous says Munchetty, why wait? Then then argues with a business owner who rightly said that customers need time to comply with THE LAW and businesses need to purchase signage

She can't or rather, won't get her round to the fact the people and businesses need time to comply with the LAW, but the relaxing of rules or advice can be implemented immediately, for those who have prepared for it.
