Match Thread vs. Torquay 12.06.21 [NL Playoffs]

Thomas Frank at Brentford was calling for the introduction of VAR for EFL playoffs this season ( NL will then follow suit most likely ) , to avoid killer mistakes

These key incidents in the penelty boxes, i think its crucial
I truly believe in these big moments in games, there is to much at stake to get these decisions wrong, just by human error, which can happen

Dont bother asking him that , otherwise he will ramble on about how Hardy, no pre season , covid, and everybody else was more to blame

I specifically called Ardley out on the Harragate game, where we were well beaten by Harragate, who had no lucky goals from ref decisions

I don't disagree with Thomas Frank but what did you make of our defending for 3 of the 4 goals (exclude the awful penalty decision) what did you make of it?

I thought all 3 were avoidable, 2 were individual errors and 1 was nervy defending by the team.

Is Harragate some sort of pun I'm not aware of?

For the sake of the message board and everyone who uses it why would you want to go over the whole Ardley, Hardy, Nolan/Kewell, Preseason, well backed managers, reckless overspending, huge number of players used, covid, conservative tactics and above all key games again? It's been done to death Davy as you know all opinions and even some facts thrown in.

That would crazy behaviour the now infamous (?) Macclesfield home game was ages ago lol.

No worse than their defending from the 2 goals we scored
1st and 4th goals ref handed. You might argue their 2nd from a corner they should of never had, should be better defended, but even then after 90 it ends 2-1 to us . Their 3rd was the only goal they really scored

Just left a bad taste in my mouth, twice now in play off games , first Coventry, and now against Torquay, we have ultimately been knocked out down to poor official decisions, we have never been on the good end of it.

I believe VAR will be introduced eventually to these games, because as time goes on , more and more teams will feel hard done by, and eventually push for it. Probably take another 5 to 10 years though

Yes the Macclesfield game was long ago, but its impact still remains today, just that one loss relegated us into this hole of a division we remain in till this day, and maybe even for years to come

Chicksen - whilst definitely a good player - is not really a central defender and his comparative lack of aerial power was exposed by the first goal today. The reason we are out of the playoffs is because despite having 3 centre backs fit at the club we played one yesterday. In a nutshell that first goal would never have been conceded If Turner was playing left of a 3

I think a few of Torquay's players would have given Big Ben nightmares with their pace if he had played.

I would have played Rawlinson ahead of Turner all day long
