The main reason Scottish fitba is a joke. When most teams in the top league rely on the away support from the bigot bros .

Usually with the OF their interests are shared when it comes to change and that is why they tend to vote together. The current situation is wholly different. Their interests are diametrically opposed. Celtic want the title which they feel entitled to. Rangers don't want Celtic to be given the title because their fans will go in to orbit if the club accepted it.
A tweak for 1 season (remembering there is already acceptance that next season might be disrupted anyway) isn't that big an upheaval in context. it also solves the relegation issue.
I can see your point mate, the 11/1 voting system is designed to stop diddy clubs voting to extend the top league as they see fit to protect them from relegation. It of course also protects the prize fund been shared out too thinly.Mind you it does have its merits if you look at my example below.
During a time of national crisis the SPFL decide that the lower league's from Championship down cannot finish due to a lethal pandemic,a vote takes place of all 42 clubs asking them to vote yes or no on the current league placings being final.A wee diddy club with a past history of making an erse of itself phucks up its vote.
The wee diddy club then realises it holds the balance of power on whether the vote is passed or not,it then decides to break promises made to other clubs including one facing relegation it had been in a pact with. This wee club now decides it wants to play with the big boys and brings its own plans to the table.
The story does not end well for the wee diddy club though as their reconstruction plan which sees them going up as club 15 falls at the first hurdle due to the Premiership's draconian 11/1 rule.
The End.
But the 11-1 vote for reconstruction has nothing to do with who will be champions of The Premiership. If talks get to the reconstruction stage, then Dundee will have voted yes and Celtic will already have been declared champions.
If reconstruction talks are then granted, there will then be a vote on reconstruction. If it goes through, Celtic will still be champions.
If it doesn't got through, Celtic will still be champions. See what I'm getting at???
The reconstruction vote will not decide who wins The Premiership, as that will have already been decided by Dundee's yes vote, therfore Rangers and Celtic have no reason to vote against each other.
Dundee voting no is the only thing that will stop Celtic being declared champions.
Dundee have changed position on this so many times it’s mind boggling even before the vote issues themselves.
Today the papers were briefed for a potential yes vote.
Obviously something happened - probably the jags legal advice - that caused them to delay.
The longer this goes on the more the Fun are drawing attention to their own craziness!!
Indeed. Totally agree if Dundee vote Yes then that would be it over. But we dont know if this will happen. If they do vote no or a legal challenge is made about the process of the voting then a new vote would have to take place and that is when reconstruction would change Hearts, Inverness and Partick votes. Rangers would then be out on a limb.
Their only hope of a null and void season would be continued chaos, another no vote to ending the season. Reconstruction would torpedo that effort. I think Rangers hope that if money is forwarded in advance of a decision (their motion) clubs will be less bothered about the outcome of the leagues making their wet dream of null and voided more possible and UEFA will somehow direct leagues to void their seasons.
