What's Fox meant to do in this circumstance?
Whether the other 3 short listers are accurate or not how does he get the job ahead of them?
'Yeah, you got a Lge Cup win, a draw at M'well & and made a decent fist of it at Ibrox but so-and-so had a really good interview & really you would have had to get a point at Ibrox to be ahead of him so see you later...'
Anyway I think I'm right in hoping it is Fox that gets the job.
Easily the worst selection of managerial candidates we have ever had imo
And that includes under ST when we were left with Mixu !
As they are such poor options LF in the short term is preferable
Surely we are not going to give more than the end of the season to one of these 😬
What if Fox does a decent job in short term and it continued to May? That last sentence makes no sense in that scenario
Names don't always work, not sure the fascination with names, unless it's genuine quality but that would take a real big wage to guarantee a quality manager, the Courts experiment worked apart from him deciding to leave one year in, another couple years I believe would have seen a positive little period overall
Not saying LF is an ideal choice but he's done not done bad upto now and may end up working out, is that a bad thing or is the thought of TA getting it right again difficult to stomach for some
What's just happened with JR had left a lot of fans disillusioned. Personally, I hope the club go back to promotion from within, like they did with TC. I'm really not sure why they broke from this last time.
It's certainly left me disillusioned. 6 games is what a seasoned manager can expect if one comes to us. 6 games to implement his own methods or he's gone.
Our goal this season is to avoid relegation so if its LF and he keeps us up with more than a little bit of manipulation from Fat Tone and our experienced players then so be it.
There's a reason why that manager list is so threadbare.....
Thing is, almost to a fan we wanted JR sacked, so I'm not sure we can have too many complaints about the length of time. I sit and think about it at times and it's mind blowing that we sacked a manager after six games, but the manner of those defeats had us spiralling out of the league imo, even at this early stage. F*ck, even TTT wanted the boy gone. That's when you know. 😂
But yeah, the calibre of candidates is a result of us being a basket case of a club when it comes to managerial appointments.
To be fair to Whitfield he consistently said we should be keeping JR and giving him a chance.
Honestly I can see both points of view but, ultimately, I think you are right that the results were so bad something needed to be done.
I believe JR only has himself to blame thinking he could come to a relatively successful formula and change everything at once. Crazy thinking, IMHO.
