Well said Griff.
Let us set aside the scandal of how Claire actually got the job, her approach to it is bone idle and embarrassing.
Surely the first thing anyone would do who actually wanted the job would be to enroll in everything and anything to promote what can be changed and that can only be achieved by reaching as big an audience as you could find but she is shying away from this to the point of getting pals to post on here for her - her term will be nearly finished before she manages to log in on here.
I accept that she doesn't have to speak to anyone but this defeats having the position in the first place.
Maybe it is Griffs fault, maybe if he allowed Avatars just for Claire then she might sign in as she likes her photo to be seen and loves the prestige side of her appointment.
"I wasn't sticking up for anyone, merely doing a mate a favour that cost me 5mins. There's plenty I could say regarding Claire to defend her, but I know better than to attempt to engage in reasoned debate with fittim from previous experience. Also, she doesn't need anyone to fight her battles for her."
"when I know she's doing everything possible to make as much positive change as she can, for as many fans as she can during her time in her role. Anybody who thinks that anyone doing her role could bring about the downfall of the owners, or have any influence on whether they sell up or not, is somewhere between naive and deluded. The post exists, and Claire is doing her utmost to make the best of the opportunity - just because she won't going to meetings calling Nixon a nob doesn't mean she's spineless or a puppet of his."
Making a mockery of yourself here Chesters - "I don't care what Piglet says and I'm not here to defend the fans rep". Clearly not.
And it's not about "calling
How about a chesters mild and a defunct Bothel bonfire, yep load of cobblers i know but wat the hell. What do you think of that Griff?
Haven't seen a Bothel bonfire since the Hunting Lodge went up in flames.
I notice that Claire has bottled it and not taken up the kind offer of signing up to the site.
Not bold enough to take the full picture of what the fans really think.
Maybe next time we will get on who isn't related and feels less restricted to ask the questions that the position was created for.
Still nothing from the lady. The position is starting to look part-time.
I haven't posted on this thread until now, letting it sort of run it's course, but there are interesting points of view on all sides, and the whole fans rep role looks to becoming a bit problematic.
I was never a fan of the role in the first place, and refused to vote for any of the people who stood for it. There were a number of reasons for me being that way, most important among them was my suspicion that it was for Nixon, the idea appeared (to me anyway) to be a way of getting involved with the nice stuff (photo opportunities with Claire etc) and hiding behind her when there was bad stuff to report. I also thought it would be a meaningless role which would be reduced to having very little input except with things like the type of bog roll used in the bar toilets and such. But other things that bothered me were the needs for communicating with all fans, and in this day and age, where people want everything instantly, that is going to take up a great deal of time and effort. My
That is precisely one of the major points I was making at the time the role was suggested Griff. It is a big job, to keep everyone happy and informed as well as getting to all games and other commitments, it is a full time job, and a bit more besides. If somebody who works full time and has young kids has this to do as well, something is going to slip. In fairness to Claire, her family must come first, and her paying job second, so this role has to come a poor third.Quote:

I'm sure we'll hear from her soon moorlad. I'm also sure that I could approach her by email, but I'm equally certain that she won't want every concerned supporter contacting her that way The onus is surely on her.
I seem to be sure of a lot of things today. Another is that there will have been quite a number of folk who thought that they could do this job, but didn't bother applying because it deserved better than to be low down on a list of their priorities. I'm trying to be fair to the lass so I'll leave this until I her what she has to say. Deano seems certain that it'll be soon. I hope so. A good third of her tenure has gone already.
