If he has that, it very much explains his lack of energy and holding of his neck. Did he have this Saturday? Kempo will tell us but I think the symptoms last 3 -4 days. Will he be fit for Saturday? Hope so.
Team selection. Fry does Stubbs think by picking him Bora are going to send us championship quality loans. He's a youth level player, not strong enough for this level. Some young players are take Rawson on his 1st loan when he was fit. Wood or Wilson while Broadfoot is fit.
Izzy shouldn't have played, Vaulks bolstering midfield up that's what's needed.
Had a good sleep before posting because I think sometimes kneejerk reactions don't always give the full picture. here goes then:-
First Half
Gave away a goal by defending you would probably not see on Sunday morning. After that we were chasing shadows. I don't think the chanting that you are SH@#E and you know it to the players does anyone any favours. Huddersfield looked a quality side with their number 10 Mooy running the game. They were faster to the ball in both thought and speed finding space with very clever play. However, lets give credit to the brilliant ball, superb cross and class shown by Newell ,Taylor and Ward respectively in our equaliser. Izzy losing the ball led to their second goal and I agree that perhaps campy could have done better.
Second Half
Took a little while for us to get going, but eventually you could see that Towns early pace was beginning to show and we started to get a grip in midfield. Some strange decisions by the linesman went against us but that's football. However, Adeyemi's missed header was crucial to the result. Just one point to note: The ref gave 4 minutes added on time. Huddersfield gave a masterclass in that time on how to hang on to what you have. AS please note.
Overall, I was not too despondent as the Millers showed much more fight against a very good side, who I predicted would be the surprise package this season. Fisher, Taylor, Ward were excellent. Adeyemi needs to get some weight off. AS get the defence right NOW!
I don't see the point is sacking AS at this point with the opposition we meet in the next 4 matches. He may be unloved by many, but what would putting a new guy in achieve at the moment?
A nice resume, AC. However, I think the first word on the second line under "Second Half" should be slow not show. A bit misleading as it stands?
Signs of improvement were certainly there but we lacked quality at the key moments.
We had about three decent chances from scoring positions in the last 10 mins and none were on target.
Hudds were wasting time after 70 mins to protect what they had and as mentioned above their ability to run down the clock was text book. The ball was stuck on the by line for about 2 of the 4 mins with every throw in going to them.
However, Hudds were always in control and seemed to up their game when they needed to.
They went at us from the off got a lead straight away and when we equalised they just upped the quality again to score almost immediately.
I can't help but think that if Adeyemi had scored on 87 mins with the free header they would have turned up the heat for the last 7 mins and probably have scored one if not two more to win it.
You may well be right with regard to them upping their game if Adeyemi had scored. Its a pity that we did not have that chance to find out. They are a good team. Wagner has had most of last season to get his formula eastablished. I suspect AS would be looking to do the same. However, the liklihood is that if results and performances do not improve he wont be with us at Christmas. Call me an hopeless optimist but I can see the type of football he is after. He does need to kick @$$ with the defence and I still think fitness and psychology are an issue. However, the sheer class of our goal gives me some comfort.
In addition, its not all negative. Under AS Danny Ward (who many said would not score goals in the championship) is looking a different player. Taylor and Izzy have been good signings. Ball and Fisher are youthful and have skill. It needs time. Whether AS gets it only time will tell.
