I love a good old debate on here ☺ Gets the old doonhamers into overdrive.
Interesting thread Hammer - did you know that Grimsby Town actually play in the seaside resort of Cleethorpes where I once holidayed many years ago and Berwick Rangers play in Tweedmouth.
Without starting the Sevco debate, aren't Rangers just Rangers FC, they've never had Glasgow in their name? Whereas Celtic are Glasgow Celtic Football and Athletic Club? (I'd like to point out at this stage that I'm not holding myself out to be an expert on the Old Firm.....)
Spot on mate I have argued this for years - for proof I have several bits of official Rangers stationery in my collection of memorabilia and nowhere is the word Glasgow mentioned. Anyone who has visited Castle Greyskull will have seen the huge metal gates emblazoned with RANGERS on them.
West Hams old Boleyn Stadium was actually in Upton Park which is the boundary between West Ham and East Ham,so that's another debatable one.Re.television,that was my Blackpool reference with there being the BBC series from a few years back starring David Tennant and Georgia Taylor.
What about Hibs?
I would bet 90 per cent of English fans have no idea what town St. Mirren are from.
