Our performance yesterday was down to him keeping the same players who had underperformed against Mansfield. My point is he seems to make changes just for the sake of it.

He does have faith in his squad, more than I have because I believe when Notts are at the top of their game they can beat anyone in this league, but that is the problem, we have to be at the top of our game. There are other clubs with better players who can outplay the other team and win when they are not at the top of their game, they don't need to be if Notts are having an average game. There are several other teams in this league who can comfortably hold their own if we have an off day and they will score goals when the usual errors creep in. There again, they do not have to be actual errors, unless you count p!iss-poor passing, static players not moving into space, players just kicking and hoping and generally not putting a shift in as errors.

Anyone care to forcast which changes will be made against Barnet - if any?

These other teams in the league you talk about, where are they in the league in relation to Notts?

My point is they have frailties too, it’s League 2 players and League 2 mistakes, that’s why all these teams are here. Enjoy the ride, we are nowhere as bad as people make out.

As I said, he's rotated his team twice for Tuesday games and we've won them both. The team that has played the last two games are what I think Nolan consideres to be his best 11 (injuries aside.)
So let me ask you this. Despite the fantastic win at Exeter, would you have been happy with the same team starting at Mansfield? Hewitt at CB despite Brisley being fit, Grant on the bench despite being the leagues top goal scorer, and a winger up front? Of course you wouldn't! He would have been slated if he had and we'd lost.

Are you sure Nolan NOW considers they were his BEST eleven? You have singled out Hewitt who started against Exeter and suggested he ought not be a first choice player, well perhaps he is a player who can play as part of a TEAM rather than an individual. I'm not saying dropping him led to the shambles of the last two games, or that picking him to start against Barnet will be a triumph (it will be yet another change though won't it?) We can all see that Grant is better as an impact player rather than a 90 minute man yet many on here were clamouring for him to start games and we all have our own opinions on how successful that has been. MY opinion is that players who can play together as a team are more likely to be successful than one that is being chopped and changed, and this can only happen if you stick with the players that have won games.

Nolan's mixing it up not only confuses me, listen to the comments from Stallard and Slater on Radio Nottingham.

Strange that I agree with you Laxton.
Hewitt at Exeter along with many others was outstanding.
The team picked to start played as a team.
Maybe the mix was right and since then things have gone pear shaped a little..
I don't think knee jerk reactions are needed
However Shola and Hewitt should start our next game

Unfortunately i am right again......We have had two good games this season, One against Wycombe and the other against Exeter. All the rest have been poor to say the least. I know we are second in the league but on these performances we will not be there for long.. The manager has his favourites which is the problem.....

Actually we weren't that good against Exeter (read my match thread).......we got a very quick goal thanks to starting a striker-cum-winger that actually sprinted onto a bouncing ball.....no substitute for pace eh? (Stead only understands "pace" if it is connected to "maker" BTW)....Exeter then tossed away a couple of gilt-edged chances to score and actually go ahead in the game......it was actually easier to score than miss.

We then obviously realised that Exeter couldn't score if the net was twice the size......and finished them off, well done Notts.....superb 3 points against the current league leaders......but hardly a recommendation for our candidature for automatic promotion......Mansfield, and now the "veggies" have brought us down to earth with a huge bump

KN needs to get a grip, we are way ahead of where we thought we'd be, but he needs to kick on now towards 80 points, not keep talking about "50 points is my goal" or "FGR are a good side"....FFS, no they're not, the league table says they're complete tossers and we should be whacking 5 past them.....stop trying to be the "nice guy, arms around shoulders"
