Just watched GRs post match interview with RamsTV. It seems this foot off the gas lark isn't his idea. He even said "I gave them a mini hair dryer at half time". Until Wendy tired in the last 10 minutes you wouldn't have thought it. Still not using the width mainly due this insistence on playing a left footer on the right wing and vice versa. At best, they will rarely go past the full back on the outside and put a cross in. Playing a winger on the "wrong" side is a valid tactic but works best if the winger in question is an Arjen Robben who can do it at international level. Ours can't do it at SBC level which is why I would advocate having the wingers swap sides regularly throughout a game to give us better crossing options and to stop the opposition FBs getting used to an opponent.
