Hammond mastered the side step, then did a decent soft shoe shuffle; left Corbyn blindsided and regrettably the Tory band plays on!
Worrying figures 59/60, but they are only a prediction and notoriously unreliable. For instance, in March they were predicting growth of 2.0% this year, today just nine months later they're saying 1.5%, they're out by 25% in just nine months, I've more chance of picking the Grand National winner than they have of coming up with an accurate prediction just months down the line, never mind years.
No consolation for the government though, although you can be 99% certain those figures are wrong, who knows which way they'll be wrong, they could turn out to be much worse.
The biggest disappointment for me came later with Chuka Umunna on Sky News. Of course he wanted to talk about the worsening growth forecasts, and he knew what the cause was, it was of course Brexit, what else. Next up was a guy from the OBR, responsible for the downgraded forecasts, 'Down to Brexit then is it, these downgrades' he was asked, 'No, nothing to do with Brexit, it's productivity, we expected it to improve but it simply hasn't and shows no signs of doing so.'
These fecking Remoaners, they just never give up do they. I've just suffered a bout of flatulence, Mrs S was seriously not impressed, 'It's all because of that bloody Brexit' she said, 'No love', I said, 'I think it was that curry we had at tea-time'. I'm not sure she was convinced.
I'm with you all the way on that Sinkov - even though I am an ultraremoaner.
Agree that the forecasts should be taken with a pinch of salt (a bloody big shovelful actually) but, like you say, they could be out in either direction.
I've just had a curry as well but it hasn't kicked in yet.
Still got the problem of outside wind though.
