Shaughnessy Is garbage - Reading reject . They say Clarke is the next best thing . Coyle just picked up players player of the year and young player would like to see him get games at RB and move Ayling to CB. Dalby and Edmondson look very decent from what I've seen, both strikers .
I've said quite a few times we've seem to have some real prospects coming through, so combined with the players we've got who actually probably are just about good enough, plus 3 quality experienced signings, there's the potential for a strong squad. The problems as I see it are two-fold - firstly to make a real difference we're talking signings at the level of at least Bartley in defence (at a minimum), at least as good as Forshaw in midfield, (at a minimum), and at least as good someone like Mitrovic up front, so not cheap.... And the other, probably even bigger issue, is that we need a head coach who can effectively use those quality signings whilst at the same time bringing the youngsters through, and I really have my doubts PH is the man who can do that.
Sorry, but the bigger problem is how to bring in any "quality/experienced" signings without shipping out a LOT of deadweight first, no matter who the coach/master might be.Quote:

No BB, I'm working on figures given by Mrs O some 6weeks or so ago, which to my knowledge haven't been challenged, on the likely costs associated with disposing of a single player on one of the long contracts. The total was about £3m. Work that up across the 9 - 11 played who are simply not good enough, you come to something between £25 - 30m. That is some 20% more than was spent in acquiring the current crop of cr4p last close season.Quote:
