Back to back promotions with Livingston which now puts them in the SPL .

Then he refuses a new contract and leaves , now nobody would do that unless another job was nailed on in my opinion and somebody's given him the nod and the wink .

Whether that's us is open to question , personally I'm thinking it's likely to be Bradford City given his link to the club .........

However ........


Grayson didn't want to stay at Valley Parade because the budget wasn't great , stands to sense Hopkin would be working to the same available finance .


I sense ours is maybe higher , if not it fecking should be and all things equal we have a more promising squad at league one level , to the tune of £8m .

I'd take Hopkin over Ainsworth personally , feisty as a player and it stands to reason in Scottish football as a coach too , something we need to clear the negativity , get to work and get the very best out of this young group in my opinion .

He'll take us before Bradford if the numb nut hierarchy don't scare him off again in my opinion .

Whether he's even on our radar is another question of course .

Goodness me Animal, this is confusing me more than ever now lol.

After all this nonsense my first choice would be Gary Bowyer to be honset, but Im not sure whether hes even on our 'radar'.
I don't see why our fans want Ainsworth so much, as opposed to somebody like Grayson or McCann for example, for whatever reason.

I'm not personally convinced by Ainsworth , I've nowt against the bloke and I'd support it if rather skeptically .

I'm wanting a strong character , a feisty tw@t , to clear the negativity with this group , kick some @ss and get to work .

There's more ..........


Get some results , get us back up in to the championship and have enough balls and credibility to take the hierarchy on and get control on the recruitment .

This has to happen in my opinion and change the culture or we will be forever in yo yo mode .

Ainsworth doesn't strike me as a strong character , could be wrong .

How many foreign coaches were in the league in that time? Given the official stat is 10% it’s not many
So stands to reason that in a league with next to no foreign managers in they can’t be successful.
You could turn itround and say all English Managers/Coaches are crap cos when was the last winner of top league(Wilkinson I think)? But in turn who was the last English coach of a top team, with realistic chance of winning league.

Not disagreeing with the what does a foreign coach know statement, just the use of the stats.

But the real question is why haven't they attained jobs at league one level ?

Nothing to stop clubs , the championship and PL are full of them , wouldn't they be a knock on effect ?

My view is that nobody is prepared to risk a young or unknown foreign coach at this level unless he perhaps had a very good connection to the club , in our case Istavan Ferenci perhaps !!!! .

Even some big clubs who fell in to league one and have a bit more money and brand like Leeds , Norwich , Forest , Southampton and Wolves didn't go down that road .

Indeed, with nothing to support it my gut would say it comes down to general lack of money for most clubs at that level to attract either on budgets or wages

It's a well balanced argument IK and in all fairness did cross my mind just after I'd published those stats. The lack of foreign managers employed in the lower leagues makes it difficult for them to be a success.
