I remember this chap playing for Southampton vs Man Utd in that 2-2 draw a few weeks back... obviously only have that game to judge him on but he played really well and played the full 90 minutes... this would be one piece of the defensive jigsaw sorted.

He hasn't bought a business. A football club cannot be run as a business. Yes, the catering and people buying a pint can be subject to business principles but Notts County Football Club is not a business. He should have no input in the way the football is played or managed because he hasn't got a clue. And yes, some people are shockingly naive and add gullible to that.

OK Swalepie, please could you provide me some examples of good business practice Hardy has applied since he took over the club.

I take your point there, but maybe their two businesses do have a little in common, the emperor's new clothes. Has anyone seen any of Paragon's designs and thought, fair play, that's really great. Or does AH does tell people it is and they accept that because they know no better? Sure he makes money, but the foundations are built on sand, a bit like Notts.

Im not Swale but I can give you some.

First it seems he got the club back on a decent footing after Trew. It was in a mess.

He changed the sponsorship model, its connected the club to many more local businesses and seeing as it was carried on this season it must work.

He's done a lot of stuff around hospitality.

I think the point is he's probably quite good at business but absolutely crap at football.

Only the obvious ones such as reducing ticket prices thereby increasing attendance etc. With regard to the football side no not particularly. Good business practice is a totally subjective term though to be honest. In business the score is kept in currency rather than opinions. In the world of 'management' there tend to be current fashionable practices, but in the entrepreneurial world of ownership and business growth there are few rules. I am curious though, why direct the question to me specifically? I never mentioned 'good business practice' in the post you quoted, merely that he'd bought a business.

With all the players we have on our books it's hard to believe we can't find at least 11 who are willing to give 100%.If not something has been radically wrong at our football club. Hardy must wonder how teams like Accrington can be doing so well, with pitiful crowds, whilst we flounder. Notts players must be some of the best paid in the league, so it's not too much to ask for them to bust a gut on match days. I am sure none of them want on their CV, that they were responsible for taking the oldest club in the world down.
