I could not agree more. We might be the oldest professional league club in the world, and have a nice big Championship ready stadium and good facilities but we are not immune to dropping out of the football league. Darlington had similar stadium and facilities to us. 24 games with less than 20 points obtained and 51 goals conceded is enough for me and no doubt countless others to realise that we have serious problems. We may only be 4 points adrift of safety but that’s 4 points too many in my opinion.

Also the lows of the home defeat to Cheltenham and the defeat to Macclesfield on Boxing Day are the warning signs. Not to mention the numerous collapses and times we have took the lead in games and thrown them away.

I’d sooner the chairman come out and acknowledge that we are in trouble and that he will be doing all that he can to ensure that we do not get relegated rather than just stating we will be alright which sounds like a head in the sand mentality unless he’s got big plans to spend our way out of trouble.

Acknowledgement of our plight needs to be enforced throughout the club otherwise we will have a shrug of the shoulders mentality as we walk into the non league abyss.

It's a certainty that other squads are putting in much more effort, but I wouldn't be so sure about the supposed quality of ours. If you take out Hemmings, Enzio, Stead and perhaps Allesandra, who probably wouldn't look out of place in L1, the rest are Conference standard really.

As has been shown, these "other squads" don't need to put in much effort at all, just wait for the inevitable and characteristic mis-placed midfield "pass" and watch the panic in our defence. A fox among the chickens, it would appear, except chickens would show more discipline and fight. Composure in a player is not an attribute sought by Notts County, it's not for the likes of us, we prefer kick and rush, or kick and stroll. ANY half-decent organised team in this league can and do walk all over us. Our tactics might work in the Conference though.

All I can add is if you thought it was Bad under under the Trust, think again they were a 100% better than the Krap we are being served up to day.

Let's hope we don't get to find out, but I believe they would not. I live within walking distance (just) of Eastleigh FC and go to a few matches every season. I've seen at first hand how they fought to get into the Conference for the first time, and how hard they're having to fight again to try and get to where we are now. The teams I go to watch them fight include the likes of Hartlepool, Leighton Orient, Wrexham, Grimsby and Torquay (not this season, obviously, in the latter two cases). If our current team was transported into the Conference for the rest of the season we'd be relegated from there too, playing the way we do.

This opens another issue in terms of finances. People have mentioned that everything we're spending (around a mil in the summer) is on a 4% interest loan to one of his other companies.

Very short term I do think cost to change is irrelevant and from next summer there should be an overhaul and key markers put in place (such as a team of less than 25 players, 4 step scouting and recruitment ratification), but long term I do worry.

It comes down to recruitment.

We’ve got it wrong for far too long now. We have no system, no method, no standard requirement or plan for players to fit into “our system”.
Part of this is as a result of changing manager too often, but not always. The last two windows have been an absolute disaster and that’s with a manager who had been in place over 18 months.
The mess we are currently in goes way back, but it’s mostly down to KN and the utter ****e he signed last summer. Just players without any plan of how they were going to play as a team. Not once in the summer could I look at the squad we had and predict the starting 11 that tells you everything as I doubt KN could tell either.

We have to get this next window right. The responsibility is going to sit with Ardley to get 3/4 right players in to drag this utter show of **** away from where we are now.
