Looks like a tough game ahead!
Basically, game over!
The curious thing is that they probably don't need to doctor the pitches too much. Indian pitches have always taken spin as the games progress and Indian spinners are superior to the English ones anyway and so shouldn't need extra assistance which, if anything should narrow the performance gap between their spinners and ours.
But its just the same as us using seamer friendly pitches in our home series, Australia producing lightning quick pitches etc.
What this does is reduce the game to a bit of a lottery with whoever wins the toss generally getting a significant advantage.
Solution is also simple: abandon the toss, let the home side prepare the pitch and the away side chose whether to bat or bowl first. Thus is you doctor the pitch, you do so at your own peril and you have to be sure you can deal with having the worst of conditions
At least we're consistent when batting against spin.
All over by Friday?
Well, we're bowling well, so maybe!
Well, well. What a turn around. Unfortunately if Root and Leach can bowl as they are, their spinners will be like spitting cobras.
Hope I’m wrong but this is looking increasingly like a two day Test.
A 40 run lead on first innings could yield an innings victory
