I agree, he is definitely coherent and intelligent, not just a cliche machine. I am sure he has a plan and a plan B too, which includes passing long and direct to beat the high press. If this time in a year we are sitting fourth in League 2 I would say he is a success.

As an aside, I have spent a week in Harrogate. Not saw anyone wearing Town's colours. Nor met anybody in the many good pubs I have visited interested in talking about footy. Possibly that could be because I am a miserable bugger!

It’s funny that you should say that. I’m sure I read somewhere a comment about Burchnall’s eyes in interviews🙄

He certainly can talk a good game, in fact the best we've had

I think Notts’ in-house interviewer (the guy who interviewed IB) is very good, but the Alex Lacey interview was very weak. Was it David Jackson? Odd as I like him on Matchday as a rule.

Should have been asking Lacey how difficult it is to get match fit when you don’t have reserve fixtures any more, or the different challenges faced when playing in a three or four at the back. And how could he fail to mention Lacey’s raking pass to Ruben and pass to JOB that ultimately led to two goals against Aldershot, and that side of his game.

Lacey seems private school educated; surely he’d know the maximum take off weight of a fully laden Emu?
