The sad thing is - the owners are getting a large part of it right.

I disagree about the summer signings.
Five out of the 6 signings have been good.

Only the signing of Obbi has been a failure.
This one signing alone could cost the club relegation - because when Morris became injured the team could not revert to playing ‘vertical football’ even if they wanted to - as there was no target striker available in the squad.
Take Morris and Dike out of last seasons team and we would have finished near the bottom.

This season - once the team got into a rut of losing it’s difficult to get out of it - basically because the young players in the squad didn’t have experienced leaders around them to pull them out of the rut.

So the recruitment last summer IMO was good - but it didn’t go far enough.
It didn’t ensure that sufficient target strikers were made available (knowing Obbi was a gamble) - and it didn’t recruit the 2 or 3 experienced leaders - that Schopp asked for - who were able to tutor all the young recruits.

We have the basics of a really good Championship team.
If the owners allowed the coach to do his job - and we had recruited another like Morris and one or two like Jan Molby - then we would be now nearer the top of the league rather than the bottom.

BTW - for some fans to even mention vouchers and things like match day experience when we are rooted to the foot of the Championship is way beyond me.

Dont let it be. I go to the football with my daughter to have a day out and enjoy the day itself, if we win then great, if we dont it is what it is - what I dont forgive is lack of effort which is what we're seeing at the minute.

I'm not going to get involved to such an extent whereby it affects my day to day life - it's someone elses problem and its only football - there are far more important things in life. Let me put it this way, I watched my brother take his last breaths at 25 years old 2 decades ago and frankly it puts things into perspective

Yes I get cheesed off with things but my general take on things is if I cant control it, dont let it concern you.

So you are saying what the owners have achieved just happened by accident but they are 100% responsible for the failures. You could also say they have had 3 full seasons (as they took over part way through first season after Patrick Cryne had sold all our good players) and have achieved the following:

1st full season = promotion at first attempt after building strong team (unlike Sheff Utd, Leeds, Wednesday, Sunderland, Portsmouth)
2nd full season = Championship survival on last day (Wigan cheating isn't a technicality, they took our best striker)
3rd full season = play offs, best season for 21 years & 3rd best in our history after good signings of players & management.

Truth is neither your details or mine give the full picture but its certainly not true the owners have presided over 4 years of mismanagement, yes we need big improvements after this season but i don't think they should be kicked out for some bad transfer windows after we had our top manager poached along with his backroom staff.

Not sure "poached" explains the departures of so many on the football and non football side.

True, we had the best transfer window in BFC's history not long ago.

Well starting from a financial position in 2017 of debt free and £3m cash in the bank they now have us in a loss making position said to be around £3m to £4m and are set to take a £7m to £8m hit in the summer when we are relegated

That's the financial mismanagement covered .

They've also managed to pyss off a huge number of fans with the taking of £750K of the club's own money to pay an instalment on the purchase of the club , an instalment plan they've since decided to stop paying and still owe the Cryne Family £3m .

They've pyssed off fans who had ST's for years in the West Stand when they kicked them out before Xmas .

They've threatened to remove the club from the town and made enquiries about ground sharing with Rotherham and Bradford .

I think you'll find its a little more complex than a two poor transfer windows and a shyte show of a season on the field for many many people .

Just found out that the Meeting arranged at The Garrison on Monday carries a £2 admission fee .

The proceeds are to be donated to Barnsley Hospice .

Some good points there about your sphere of influence and anything out of it you can only passively observe. I reached the same conclusion a few years back, initially it did ruin a weekend but over the years I have learned that really, as a observer , i choose what I get from it and how I react and the only thing I can control is how I deal with it. So I chose to stop letting a bunch of footballers who we dont know personally, getting paid what most of us could only dream of regardless of result affect me and sometimes my immediate family. The cinic in me says that the club aren't really interested how you feel as long as you keep turning up and handing over your money, and the same goes for the players who's wages depend on the success of the club. I soon worked out that badge kissing was a hollow crowd pleaser and there is no loyalty to the club or supporters when it cuts to the chase. Its a business out to make money and your season ticket is no more special than a cineworld annual membership, if thats your thing.

What the club has had for years is a hard core set of loyal "through thick and thin" supporters and their marketing campaign is to pull at the heartstrings. What is happening now is that the trust and passion of even those supporters is waning under the current ownership due to their running of the club and the Model.

How many times over the past 5 years have we been on the brink of something special, only the have the rug pulled from under us and the whole rebuild starts again.

So to be honest right now, I'm not even that fussed if we get relegated , its only what we deserve and I head to games not with a win/lose mentality but a why am I say here wasting my day, what else could i be doing.

Im closer now to seriously not renewing than I have ever been. If things dont start picking up and the owners quote the Model then that will be me done.
