Andoni Iraola
He also spent a year in America too, so box ticked.
Also got jack sh1t experience of the premiership and is admired by the people who hired Marsch....box ticked :O
Postecoglou anyone???
"Done very well"???? Sacked from his first managerial position at Larnaca, that giant of European football, didn't get a contract extension at Mirandes (who they??), and finally got some kind of success getting promotion with Vallecano. And this is the height of our ambition in;
A. Acquiring a coach/manager who can help avoid relegation, and;
B. Having said coach/manager act with the (new?) board to ensure that we don't resume relegation battles in seasons to come
Really?
For reasons that might become clear in the dim distant future, we took a punt on Jesse James, we have no time for doing so again. Proven, successful experience in the PL, almost without caring what style of football is the incomers favourite, is the single most important criteria. Without it, we will probably be spending a LONG time wishing why we ignored (recent) past history.
It's not fair... life is rarely that but whoever gets hired has a 6 point "must win game" against Everton as their first game in mid February.
I know a lot of games left in the season but the loser of that game is likely to be one of the relegation teams.
For that reason I think you have to pick someone that that knows the prem, and frankly, knows the teams already. Unfortunately, that person will be coaching against us on the critical mid February game at Everton.
