Bingo. Here we have the key to why building a squad is much more nuanced than ‘he’s ****, get rid’.

Plenty of time to go yet. Managers all the time emphasise, how later on in the window players become available. The signing of Ness for example, sounded like he wasn't initially on the radar but then became available. Again managers talk about the 'domino effect' it happens in football, whether you're Notts County or Manchester United. I'm sure the brothers are doing all they can.
Trying to sign the best players is like asking the best looking girl at the Palais for a dance, you start with the prettiest and work your way down.
So your answer is offer them more money whether that be in wages or transfer fees.!?Nice to see you spending the owners money so liberally. With this in mind what is our wages budget for this season and how much do we have to spend for new signings. It would also be nice to see how much money we are losing on a monthly basis.? If you reveal those for all us fans, your suggestions might make sense. Thanks in advance x
Can you tell us who suggested that Austin is the next Messi? It certainly wasn't me, but you are clearly referring to my post about Austin's very good first half at Shrewsbury. I think I said something about Austin being an honest, decent player who works hard and is a reliable squad member. I stand by that.
In my youth I watched Notts winning promotion from the Third Division (League One) with Brindley at right back. He was an honest, decent player who worked hard and was a reliable squad member (actually a first team regular, a good defender but very limited in attack). We need players like that, as well as the Needhams, Massons and Carters.
