The 'Nest' is said to be covering our wage bill on it's own and the brothers said some time ago that higher attendances meant that they were having to spend less than they had accounted for. On this basis, there should be something in the pot for a very, decent signing come January?

I think he can. What I see most weeks is a team structurally set up well, know what their roles are and tbf on nearly all occasions are all giving 100% for the whole game.
When people say he has no ability what is it based on? I?d love to know their insights where he?s falling short ability wise. It?s easy to chuck out inverted wingers is a bad idea but it?s common place for many teams. I honestly believe if Crowley and JJ had both been playing 80% of the games so far this season we?d have probably have at least 6 more points and it looks totally different then.
We?re sadly missing pace too, he has little option but to set up push and probe around teams and especially at home against low blocks. If there?s someone better and we can get them let?s do it, but who is that manager? It wasn?t long ago people said we had c0cked up not getting Williamson but he?s doing horrific results wise at Carlisle since going in.
As much as I would like to see Maynard be a success (as I do all Notts' managers) I don't think we'll ever be better than mid table 'also rans'.
I look at the way Crewe and Walsall defended their goal in the last couple of games, blocking virtually every shot and just don't see us having that same attitude. The defence has definitely improved this season, but we're shipping goals of late and at the same time have become somewhat toothless up front. I appreciate he's been unfortunate with injuries, but I am sure most clubs in the league will also bemoan their bad luck on this front.
For me he's looking more and more like Ardley Mk II. Loads of possession with no serious threat and a soft underbelly. We're predictable and easy for opposition managers to counter our style.

It's Maynard's job to get his team scoring goals. He's failing.
Get a new striker and Maynard will likely put Jatta on the bench to get rusty.
