Likewise, Keir Starmer would not be in Saudi Arabia, cap in hand, grovelling for money. Instead, he would be demanding their dungeon doors be sprung open and he would denounce MBS as a pariah dictator, just like Joe Biden did before he too reversed course and begging MBS to open the spigots. It was not that long ago that Starmer lambasted Boris Johnson for ?going cap in hand from dictator to dictator?. And yet look at him now:

What the heck have the other, peaceful, Arabs nations got to do with it? in the Arab mind, actions like this will fester and rather than prevent the next iteration of ISIS, it will all but guarantee it. You've heard of the abhorrent 'honour ' attacks on women I presume, this will trigger exactly the same response. Netanyahu is not peaceful, he's a criminal, trying to avoid jail in Israel on corruption charges.

Andy I for one am simply delighted with your sudden interest in principles and consistency and look forward to you displaying both on this forum.

For example, in this thread you started about Syria, you are critical of Keir Starmer for shaking hands with the Saudi Arabia's current de-facto ruler. Surely you can also be critical of Vladimir Putin who gave direct military support to an even more brutal dictator in Syria through 13 years of civil war that killed some 180,000 people?

Not that you likely really wanted a serious or lengthy answer on your weather question, but its actually been very unseasonably warm here all throughout the fall and what weve had of the winter so far. Its increasingly clear to me that global warming is real and tangible. And this is another issue I have with our political elites - they wax lyrical about global warming but then do absolutely nothing meaningful to prevent it. In fact, their own personal behaviour is often so contradictory to what they espouse that it makes many of the public believe that the very topic is nothing but a conspiracy to defraud them of their money and freedoms. And given that we default to knowing that its their nature to be liars (except in areas of foreign policy, of course /s) then I cant really blame the public for believing there is indeed no such thing.

The idea that some of the dictators in the Middle East are more brutal than others, and that our political elites only align themselves with only with the moderately brutal ones is purely farcical.
