If there had been interest in Pope I?d possibly agree? but there?s nothing been mentioned, and he?s just returning from injury? no one is gonna buy a keeper in that condition I would have thought.

Also, let?s not pretend that Dub?s has been stand out player, pulling off saves left, right and centre?. He put himself on the line against Arsenal and massive props to him for that, but can?t remember (maybe I am wrong?) him having to do much since he came in.

Tonali has made a difference going forward quicker and in defense. He?s be solid in front of a backline since Dub?s came in, and played a massive part in our recent defensive record.

Pope is sh!t awful with the ball at his feet, and his distribution sucks, but let?s not forget that in the CL season he was outstanding? people seem to be forgetting we were all calling for him to replace Pickford as England No 1.

We?ve got Botman back in contention, we?ve got Schar back now, Hall outstanding and Tino is a workhorse and looking better all the time? as it stands, with Tonali in front of the defense, we are pretty solid defensively so there?s no reason why we should really worry.

7+ add on?s or 8m is what is rumoured for the deal, that?s amazing business for a player about to turn 36 next week with 6 months left on his contract? I guarantee other fans will be calling it a shady deal 🤣

A good keeper doesn?t need to be making saves left , right and centre? just saving what comes to them.

The fact he?s got better distribution means the ball isn?t going straight back to the opposition.

The defenders aren?t afraid to use him when playing out from the back, so if they run in to trouble they?re confident passing the ball back to him, rather than trying to twist and turn their way out of trouble, giving the ball away and leading to a shot.

I get Dubs throwing his toys out of the pram when Pope came in? he was No1, then he?s not? I respect the fact he wanted to be playing.

I dont get him going to be Manchesters No2? but at the end of the day, he now has a medal to show for his time in England.

Pope can look like a rabbit in the headlights and doesn?t seem to ooze the confidence that Dubravka does. It?s a shame he?s going.

Anyways, that seems like an amazing deal if they can pull it off.

I've heard on the grapevine that we have had a good look at the Wolfsburg goalie, Grabara, mid 20's and had a bit of time with Liverpool and Huddersfield when quite young. Also as an aside, Barca's winger Garcia.

I'd love us to have a goalie called "Grabara" 😆 and I am amazed we haven't tried to test Barca's financial situation more - does anyone rate their CB Ronald Araujo? The right age and good attributes.

Dead right there Sclox. Barca have big money problems and a wealth of talent on the books which they couldn't keep satisfied if they had 3 first teams in la Liga.

That's how Chelski have got away with it over the seasons. Nicking young talent from poorer clubs wholesale, keeping the most promising and flogging the rest off for good money. They are just football traders with the first team as a by product. B)

Agreed, Dubs has been a great servant and with his age, it's a good move for him, thankfully.

I doubt we will sign Grabara, he moved to Wolfsburg in the summer and Bayern are keeping tabs on him for next season. He's possibly the most arrogant player I have ever seen, but I'm pretty sure he can become one of the best keepers in the world with a bit of luck and a few improvements in his game. He's got his age on his side. Great goalie on his day.

I think Bayerm were tracking Araujo. Regarded as their fastest player with great power, strength and Uruguian spirit. I know anuone looks good on you tube but this guy looks the part. Rated 50 mill but gotta be able to get him for less.

So, rumours today say there is no fee at all. . .

If that is then case then I'd be pushing to not let him go and keep him to keep the solid back we've had.

I know a total shift in my position, but my position was dependant on us getting a fee for him.

Also reading it's up to him.
