It wasn’t rocket science which predicted this fiasco over injuries which has been in place since the summer, perhaps now taking it’s ultimate toll. Or maybe not even yet? Worse to come?
One only had to look at, 1. Ages. 2. How fit & lack of games for some, before we signed.
Given this, it makes no sense that we have splashed out on our biggest D1 budget. If we have then it is all the more ridiculous management by all.
?Can you touch your toes ??.
Firstly you don't have to have all the equipment to carry out full medicals, these facilities and services can be obtained from 3rd parties. You would expect that Rotherham have contracts in place to acquire the relevant services, remember that the players are the only assets the club really has (except for our EFL licence).
Last night I watched the Everton v Liverpool game, which ended by a wonderful goal by a model professional, Tarkowski. It was his 100th premier league game for Everton and he hasn't missed a game in the Premier League since he signed for them. During the game, this fact was stated and followed by a wonderful comment "The best ability, is availability" and over the last few years we have suffered under THREE managers that key players are not available.
For me this is not a management issue, it is the people that run the club that sit between TS and SE. Now why TS allows this to happen, is beyond me, he is supposed to be a highly successful businessman, yet clearly allows under performing functions within the club. Is it just about money or is there something else?
Now Raggett and JCH do not meet the "best ability" criteria, they were bad signings, with Raggett it looks to be a bit of a Grant Hall situation, decent player never available.
Something is rotten in the state of Denmark
Medicals on our prospective signings are carried out at Claremont Hospital in Sheffield, or at least they used to be.
I'm begining to wonder with our constant passing back from midfield, instead of moving the ball forward, that something was missed in the medicals.
ie - could there be a medical issue, in that the players have their feet on back to front. 🦶🙄
Thankfully Evans put a stop to signing injured players. He told us he was going to and he did!
Thankfully Evans said he would change the age of the playing staff. He did! It has gone up by a year!
Thankfully we have recruited injured and uninjured players for the future and thankfully every players contract runs out at the end of next season!
I am sure we all remember, way back in the mists of time when TS sat in a press conference with SE when he was appointed. SE said either in the conference or shortly after, that TS had asked him to look at all parts of the club and to write a warts an all report for TS. If i remember correctly the intention was that TS would address all the areas that were highlighted, oh to get a copy of what SE wrote.
