📝 New Manager [Luke Williams Appointed]

I think this coming season will send a clear signal to all supporters whether or not the owners have ambition (even in moderation). They have done the stability thing for all to see, and highly appreciated it has been, but we need to kick on now.

It would be interesting to hear from those who haven't renewed yet or have opted not to renew how much the cost of living is affecting their decision.

Wrexham certainly don't seem to be having any problem selling season tickets, despite this being their 15th season in the NL:

And we all know that season tickets across the river will sell out (if they haven't already done so). I guess the closest equivalents for us will be Chesterfield and Mansfield. If their sales dip, it may be part of a wider trend. Otherwise, it would be a worrying message for the Reedtz that despite having just achieved our best home record in years (since 2010?), some fans clearly aren't happy.

Me, not at all. I'm interested to see who we appoint as manager and which players we sign first. Having said that, I'll prob end up getting one anyway. Force of habit, innit?

Agree with every word. I thought the same about the first playoff final, thought here we go back up. Then when we lost thought we'd win the league next season but it was Sutton. Now we're finishing 5th, losing in the playoff QFs and as you say thinking a draw away to some of these teams would be a good result for Notts. We always used to be a good draw for managers as well in the lower leagues but now alot aren't bothered. I'm not having a go at anyone by the way, it's just sad to see that this is Notts County 2022.

Naturally Wrexham don't have an issue they've just had a barnstorming second half of the season, ended the season in great form oh and have exciting attractive Hollywood owners who are splashing the cash. Check out Wrexham's attendances prior to their arrival at this level. Different story.

Mansfailed, although they bottled another big game like usual they had an equally impressive second half to the season under a manager I suspect their fanbase is well behind. Forest not comparable so best barometer will be chesterfield imo

I think the biggest impact the cost of living will have, is on the occasional fans that pay on the day.

Yes KTD that makes sense and surely the best way to combat that is to maintain our excellent home form from last season and secure another 15 home wins.

Plus I'm sure the prices at the shops have shot up recently so probably (financially) better to get a season ticket anyway.

I fear going food shopping instead on a Saturday afternoon could prove very costly.

I'm surprised how many people say they are waiting to hear more about our new manager before buying a season ticket. If I lived in Nottingham, I can't think of a single thing that would stop me from getting one. Is people's loyalty and desire to watch their team really conditional on managerial appointments?

Not being able to afford it in these difficult times is something completely different.

I suspect for the vast majority it's automatic to renew.

When I had an NG postcode I always viewed the ST like paying an annual bill, which for some seasons during that time felt very apt lol.

The managerial appointment is obviously huge and will have a significant impact to our performance next season but it would never stop me signing up for the season. Especially because I know so little about many of the names linked to the job.
