I think Andy Irvine may still involved with coaching at Palmerston !?!?!

Head of Youth is his title in the match programme and also barman in the Social Club during Saturday home games.
Andy Irving signed for Queens from the long defunct Saturday Amateur team Heathhall Hearts as seen above . I toddled along to watch 'Hearts' when Queens were away and I was too young to go . I used to watch gob smacked at half time as these heavily sweating men passed a single cigarette around the whole team, inhaling deeply while urging more and more effort in the second half. They had a fantastic goalscorer with a big, bushy beard called Chucky Mcgraw . He seemed to have a great knack of arriving on the end of crosses and thundering the ball into the net. I am sure the former grass pitch is on the site of my work place Gates that was completed in 1989.
yep jr old chucky was prob the best amateur player to have played in the leagues ,lives in the house just behind mines ,still going about likes often walking his dog in the park in locharbriggs likes ,he played as a leftback most of his career ,that heathhall hearts team were decent likes .
I played many times against Chucky and can never remember him being a left - back Dougal. Always a striker as JRsLeftpeg mentioned
Enjoying these flashback threads with bits from old programmes. Well done JR.
