Is this the end?

I hope nothing for now. Where is the legal judgement that says Dario/Bowler tuned a blind eye? If is it proven in a court of law there was further wrong-doing at the Alex then yes, I'll agree that the parents should question the integrity of the club and take whatever steps they deem fit. And I agree every supporter at that point should spin the 'ashamed to be a supporter' line - but not before.

To compare this with Savile is totally wrong. Bennell was convicted, Savile was not and was also able to manipulate the largest broadcast organisation in the world (if you must make a comparison).

I've been the first to think this season that Steve Davis would be over qualified if he was managing the Shell garage down the road from me but I can't help feeling there'd be a different reaction from the fans if we were still in the Championship - and also the press.

Nobody is turning their back on this club as the club is and was always NOT the club of Gradi and Bowler, no matter how many times they tried to say it was. I invite you to say that as a qualified statement and give your full name so if it comes to pass that it wasn't you can be sued for libel. If not maybe revise your stance?

The only person who needs to worry about libel and untrue statements is the ex director surely? Nobody is denying that abuse took place and its a case as usual as who knew what when and what was done about it? Also has Steve Walters confirmed it all and that other kids were involved or not?

Put your knives away until the investigation is complete. And yes, to reaffirm i will be the first to condemn the Alex if there's been any sort of cover up proven in a court of law. But not before.

That said I'm surprised at the lot of you. Can't wait for my trip to Colchester tomorrow, 400 mile round trip but it needs to be done. COYR

I'd be more than happy to provide my full name to the relevant authorities if Crewe should wish to sue me for libel. In my opinion they would find it difficult to prove that the claims I've made are a) false (Bennell was after all convicted of offences committed at Crewe and there is substantial recent evidence of many people at the club who were aware and did not act) or b) that my intent was to cause reputational damage to the club (I am or have been a longstanding supporter of the club). Rather my statements reflect my revulsion at recent information revealed about the nature of the organisation we have been funding with our hard-earned.
