More like the yips in golf or dartsitis where it's a mental problem. Punch drunk is the appearance of being drunk due to too many blows to the head, also common in American footballers.

Nope not the one I was thinking of there's a syndrome that boxers can get that make them flinch, close eyes or stop instead of dodging out of fear from what I could read from the long winded tech no babble, it can come from taking too many hits in a fight or can build up over time in infighter boxers.

Not a clue what the term for it I thought it was punch drunk or punch eye but I guess I'm wrong

Its called Maykeyupi syndrome..
It's when a boxer closes his eyes and doesn't move whey punched. A bit like a flinched reflex
