for us that equates to 1 card every 3rd/4th game or so

Aye, I'm not doubting his lack of discipline, the guy needs to curb his aggression and use it in a positive way on the pitch.
I like a player who's feisty and backs up his team wanting to win, but elbows and dirty challenges are bull****, they aren't helping the team, they're hindering it as we saw with Shelvey's sending off.
With this guy guiding them, surely it's only a matter of time before it clicks and they come of age and start doing the business in the right way on the pitch.
I truly believe we have (potentially) 2 top class players. Our team is better with them in it in my opinion.
TerryMac- I don't think its that Rafa doesn't rate him, like I said in the op, I think because of his lack of control, he doesn't trust him in our team (yet) to play regularly in the first team, his decision was justified with his stupid action.
If he can gain Rafa's trust without being reckless then I think we'll see him get more game time, ultimately it's down to his actions not his ability because there's no doubt he's got the ingredients to be a top class striker, in my opinion.
As I say, I reckon if we sold him it would be a big mistake and he'd go on to play for a top club.
My question to all those who don't rate him would be, how much would you sell him for (if he's that ****) and who would you replace him with?
It's got to be realistic and within that price range though.
I think you'll struggle.
Yes that's about the nail on the head for both Mitro and Shelvey. Both players with immense natural ability and talent and all that is needed to get the best out of them is to channel that aggression the right way and I'm sure rafa can and will do this.
I think we will see an enormous change of attitude in both of these players and a short time into the season Mitro joining Shelvey as an automatic starter.
His stats at Partisan are canny though .. 2 starts and 4 sub ..136 mins in total and 2 yellows and a red.
Think of Roy Keane. One of the nastiest bar stewards who ever played the game, but when he did control himself and channelled his aggression the right way he was a match winner.
Also our mutual friend Big Al could have a nasty streak but more often than not he controlled himself usually right up to the edge.
Sergio Ramos, a Real Madrid hero and legend. Sent off 22 times in his career.
And to think all he needed was a shrink.
We aren´t good enough to lose players like Mitro and if we are going to get anywhere we need a few rough diamonds to come good for us.
It looks like Rafa has his work cut out to curb his violent personality but I think there´s noone better to succeed.
Well said. If and massive it can be channelled and sorted, he'll be a top player. Till then though. . . .
Aye and nothing wrong with that, Mitro just needs to learn to emulate that style rather than smashing people down XD :(
I do see he's now being accused of diving last night to get Brady booked. Anybody see the incident?
