Bloody hell, we agree on something! There's no silver bullet - reducing the number of foreigners isn't suddenly going to make our players more skillful. I'm not sure there's a simple answer, either.

I've sadi it before and I'll say it again.
I saw England win the WC in 1966. No one will ever see it happen again.
No flair, no plan, no innovatipn, no desire, no players who are remotely near 'world class' and the ones who have come near have only been given that benediction because they were surrounded by better foreign players propping them up and making them look good.
As much as I'd like to think that we're unbeatable due to our team spirit, guts and determination, the result against Premier League Leicester in the cup proved that it only gets you so far. I agree that the England team could be much better than they are with the right manager, but we're still a long way behind many other countries and all the grit and spunk in the world won't change that.
I think our own success is more to do with style of play rather than just grit n spunk. Yes you have to have the grit n spunk for the comitment side of playing but theres a more to it than just that. OK, the Leicester match. Hypothetically, what if our side was made up of better players than we currently have, playing our style, pumped full of grit and spunk? A different outcome I may think. Thats what England could do.
Granted, but the gulf in class between England players and Spain/Germany/Argentina/whoever players is still going to be there, so we're still not going to be able to compete. And it's not just like England can buy better players. Anyone can say 'we should play X and Y instead', but are X and Y really amongst the best in the world? It's doubtful.
I think we could do better than we are now, but I think any expectations of ever winning anything in the near future are completely unrealistic and self-destructive. Let's play with a bit of pace and guile and get in their faces. We're still not going to win anything, but at least we might ruffle a few feathers and not be completely ashamed on the national stage. And it might give the fans who put so much into it something to celebrate too. And if we're not constantly building up the expectations of the nation, it might not be such a slap in the face when we crash and burn.
That just about sums it up CD. I don't think anyone expects them to win anything (get help if you do) but lets at least give it a go. He's said he's going to go with 3 at the back now, so its a perfect opportunity for a 3 5 2 attacking formation, no excuses, and stuff the 2 deep midfielders. In fact tell Dire he's not going TODAY ! :P
for me henderson is not an international quality midfielder and dier should be used in a back 3 with cahill and maguire also kane and alli dont forget get most of their goals for spurs being set up by ericksen a proper world class playmaker only 2nd in world for me behind hazzard
