No it doesn't, what hurts is being a poorly run club!
In my time watching the Rams I've seen us in the top division, the second tier and the third tier, I've seen us crap, brilliant, mediocre and every other possible connotation that one can think of. I've seen us win promotion and relegation on countless occasions, I've seen us become Champions of England and play the likes of Benfica, Juventus and Real Madrid and I've seen us humiliated by great clubs from non league football (I say great because every club is great in the eyes of its supporters)! It's the life of a football supporter and it's a great life, I wouldn't have it any other way!
So, being beaten twice by your club is, to us, part of that great life (obviously to you its a great achievement and if it may help you continue to survive in this league, good on you) but our problem is how the club is, and has been, run not one off results!
One day we KNOW we will be back at the top end of the pyramid and we will do well there, in the meantime we may join Sunderland etal down in the depths because we have been badly run! So be it!
However, do you KNOW that you will reach the top or, as is most likely, have you achieved your best by doing the double over us?

Well we’re not likely to be overjoyed are we? I suppose if Championship mediocrity is the height of your ambition you’ll be okay with it.
Most of us would certainly settle for it this season tbh.

To me it's not about winning or losing to Rotherham it's more about why winning or losing to them has become so important. From my recollection every time we've been on a downer it's not because we lost to the Sheffield club's lowly cousin, no it's because we've been badly managed, either at board level, management level or both!
Now that's what's hurting!

Mac: I wish I had your optimism that the Rams could become relevant again in my lifetime. We are skint, poorly run, short on talent (although longeron potential) and struggling. Our takeover looks doomed, and covid has stripped us of our matchday revenue. Our owner has had enough of propping up losses, we couldn't pay the December wage bill, even though some of it may have been deferred and maybe we can only pay January courtesy of selling two players.

You speak of our games against top european sides - I foresee playing the likes of Bury (yes, I mean Bury) in the administration league in 2023-24

good points there . But it wasn’t a great achievement beating you twice . This where you and other teams sound like billy big *******s . We know what we are a small well run club ,unlike your club . I don’t think you will go down and we might but for us we enjoy the ride .

I'm not belittling when I say it is a great achievement I'm referring to the fact that it may propel you away from the relegation area so that makes it great. But if you were a poorly run club then how you club is being run would be of more concern than if you lost to say Hinckley Town! I'm sure you couldn't care a toss about Hinckley but you do care about your club! Get my drift!

Two points Geoff, I said top end of the pyramid not top of the pyramid and I didn't say when!
One day we will be there, God knows when but we will and I hope those that are around to watch can do so live, nope it may not be us but it will happen!
Obviously, we all hope we are there but that is for a higher authority to decide!

Looking on the bright side, mac. Even if the worst happens...the last time we were relegated to the third tier (1984), within three seasons we were top of what is now the Championship and were about to embark on four years in the top flight.

Probably more exciting times than the last 13-14 seasons and while I know how frustrating it is to see all the mistakes that have been made, we’re not done yet.

We might actually score a few goals in Division One, rA!!
I'm not as worried about relegation as disintegration! We have a habit of self inflicted disasters but the financial ones are way worse than the football ones! You'd have thought after Maxwell we'd have learnt but hey ho!
