I could not understand why a woman who has never done military service, was walking behind her father's coffin bearing a chest full of medals?

I agree BT, it was a very sad, sorry and somewhat sinister sight, just as alarming to me were the three 'carriage drivers', none of them near anyone else, in a wide open space, in the fresh air, and all three with muzzles on. What on earth was the point of that ?
Mrs S cracked me up, she was convinced the carriage was there to take the Queen down the road, it wasn't until the Queen turned up in her limo that she conceded it wasn't.
There were only two military medals worn, one being a Canadian one and the other a RN Long Service and Good Conduct Medal because she is an honorary Rear Admiral and is Chief Commandant of Women in the Royal Navy.
She also had her Order of St John medal to mark her 30-year association with the St John's Ambulance along with Queen's Service Order (QSO) (New Zealand).
The other medals were all relating to her mother's reign ----Coronation Medal, the Silver Jubilee Medal, the Golden Jubilee Medal and the Diamond Jubilee Medal which are all non-military and could have been awarded to lots of people.
Happy to help you guys but don't lose any sleep over it, governments hand out knighthoods and other awards to people a lot worse than Princess Anne and her family.
Cheers Sub, the wearing of them didn't bother me, even I have a medal or two and I haven't been in the Military. I see your lads were playing, how was your replacement, was he up to scratch ?
It really is time we sent these Germans and Nazis packing and back to from wherever they came...

Good stuff BT, well spotted, I think we should all whip ourselves up into a rage over this,
"sister Sophie met, was ‘impressed by charming’ Hitler in early 1930s"
Hang on a minute though, you do realise don't you BT, the early 1930s were 90 fecking years ago, there are some right old gimmers on this board, me included, but I can guarantee you none of us gimmers was even close to being born back then. Can you not find something a bit more recent to get your knickers in a twist over, like Suez or the Bay of Pigs, you know, something we might even just vaguely remember ?
To digress slightly, why are you reading the Times of Israel anyway ? Could it be you just like to keep an eye on what them Jews are up to, you can't trust the Jew can you ? They stand watching, >;)
I call it balanced reading sinkov. I like the idea of empathy, if I can understand where other ideologies spring from, I can understand it better. I still can't read the "Daily Express" though? B)
I think the article from the "Times of Israel" sort of proves Meghan's statement the "Firm" are racists, and probably anti-Semitic too...

I will need more than another 90 years to forgive the Nazis for these horrors.
