Good balanced post QLD. It all happened so quickly IB needed to see what he was working with. He could indeed of shook it all up and made some big changes to the lineup and formation immediately but he choose the long game. See with his own eyes what the players could and couldn't do in a system they were familiar with.
As you highlighted for a lengthy period of time he had no real time/opportunity to change anything on the training ground.
It was just game, followed by game, followed by game every 3 days with recovery and light training between. It massively restricted any impact he could have in the short term but it didn't take too long before you saw obvious improvements in the performances and as expected an upturn in results then followed.
Recruitment is indeed the great unknown with him both in terms going forward at Notts, and how involved he was in recruitment at his previous jobs abroad.
