I’m not questioning Elite’s prediction skills and I accept/respect his view. There are times, ridicule maybe too strong a word, when I feel he makes a a little humorous comment off the back of someone’s post. This is my opinion, hence why I asked the question direct to Elite. I don’t wish to turn into a major incident and I’m certainly not upset by it.

In terms of positive and negative, I’ll agree to disagree with you. Individual/match performances aside. I understand that everybody as an opinion, but surely some are positive about the direction the owners are trying to take the club in, some reserve judgment and some don’t think it will work. What I don’t like, although some of it is humour, is the labelling of nodding dogs or pitchfork brigade.
Anyway, my thoughts. Hope you have a good evening.

I also respect your view, like I do with any of the ‘positive’ gang (off the top of my head I would include Swale and matt-magpie alongside you). Your views maybe a bit one-sided, but they provide a balance to the opposing side. You might find this hard to believe, but I would really love to join you. I would love to say that I think we are definitely heading in the right direction. The best I can say though is that I hope we are heading in the right direction. I just try and say what I see without bias.

What I find amusing and frustrating in equal measure is whenever we lose people are rightly upset to varying degree. All Notts fans should be with a defeat but I don't understand why there then needs to be a complete root and branch review of the whole club.

We lose a midfield battle, or struggle against set pieces and lose a game and all of a sudden, the set piece coach is useless, the recruitment is poor, the manager should be gone if he loses the next two games, the owners are relatively skint, the crowds will soon drop by a 1000-1500, won't make the playoffs at this rate, if we do we will bow at miserably, we need Warnock to consult etc etc. I know a game of football can be a rollercoaster ride of emotions as we've seen multiple times under IB but it's frankly ridiculous to question everything about the club and it's long term aims on and off the field.

The only thing missing is another Manger In/Out thread , an NCM staple over the years.

Just my thoughts and opinion with some facts chucked in for good measure.

What you have described above looks like the reactions of football fans, especially those of lesser performing clubs, all over the country whether it is posted online or discussed at the half time tea bar. I don't recall one person suggesting IB should be sacked or perhaps I missed it although I did find the Warnock as consultant suggestion relatively amusing. I think you need to chill out a bit laddo.

Maybe we are having a blip due to injuries and all this talk of whips, pitchforks Messiahs lapdogs and such like is all a little premature....when IB gets his first choice defence back in place and if we keep losing maybe this thread will be ready and waiting with a purpose....

I’m going to provide my pennies worth re. Recruitment. I don’t feel we have enough strength and depth in key positions.
How can any club, let alone a professional club have 1 recognised keeper deemed good enough for first team football?
When you play 3 centre backs, you need adequate cover - we have Brindley and Chickson. Against tall physical sides that cover isn’t adequate. For the record I like both.
Up front. If we lose Wootton at any point we are knackered. None of the other forwards come close to what he brings. I know some don’t rate him but his stats stack up.
Then there is the centre of midfield. It’s choc full of young lads (with JoB the exception) learning the trade. These players may well progress and become fine footballers. I truly believe that we are 1 central midfielder shy - one with experience of sitting in midfield and dictating play. A 30 year old Doyle.
It’s fine having a small squad if it’s good enough. The issue we might have now is that IF the losing run continues their isn’t much scope to freshen it up without loan players, which kind of defeats the object of what we want to achieve.

So in summary, IMO, the players we have are fine. We just needed more of them.

The thought of losing Big Kyle is a real concern for me. We know IB and staff will have a plan B for that scenario cos of how this head coach operates but whether it's adequate god knows. As we know we have no like for like replacement for him at present.

When it comes to Notts Elite I’m the eternal optimist, admittedly it’s more blind optimism at times. As you have said it’s opinions. I had mine about our relegation season in it not being totally NAs fault and I thought the first NL season we did very well considering. I was shot down by some not in the right manner but rarely bit back. I do think some people need to wind their necks in on how they talk to people but we have a choice wether to engage or not. As for this season I got no idea on how it’s going to turn out, but some posters should look at all teams results, well backed sides losing. It’s an inconsistent league due to the level of players and to coin the overused saying “we are where we are”

Opinions, respect, positive, negative all that side. My initial point was off the back of your comment in an early post that you don’t ridicule negative or positive posts. I disagree with that comment, albeit you do it as bit of light hearted humour, I believe you do it. As I stated previously, I’m not upset by it. I actually thought you may have been poking for a reaction.

Back to the picture and I believe I see the bigger picture. As a club we couldn’t continue to operate in the manner we have for 2 decades. Rolling from owner to admin to owner and getting very close to seizing to exist. In my opinion, the current owners, have a long term plan that I believe will get and keep our club on a sound footing for years to come. Unfortunately, in the current world we live in the short term success of getting out of this bloody league may not come soon enough for some. For me, as painful as it maybe, a few disappointing performances/results will not make me lose faith in the long term plan. Some of the cogs in the plan may need to be changed along the way, but not after 9 matches.
