Too right Oldstripy, it's not the broken leg that's the problem, it's the dislocated ankle, lots of minor joints you see. I broke my leg and dislocated my ankle in a motorbike accident 35 years ago and I'm still limping now.

I did my fibula and tibula 15 years ago. Bloody awful. Still have considerable swelling now. Tried a hell of a lot of stuff. The only thing that actually improves it is zero dairy and zero alcohol ( inflammatory). A few days later its not too bad but queues are impossible.
I’m not sure we can compare football fans injuries to a professional sports person. Yea the injuries themselves will all be damn painful and in that respect similar. However, the after care will in most cases be polar opposites. Whether it’s hospital treatment, intense physio, oxygen tanks, dieticians and access to surgeons world wide. We should also factor in the health and fitness of an individual before the incident. The younger and fitter someone is, the increased likelihood of a full recovery.
Tshimanga may not be 100% in terms of the strength of the ankle and surrounding tissue and whether he has full functionality. I’d suspect this would have been the issue in the medical where the risk of subsequent injuries - Achilles and muscular injuries in the lower leg are increased and could cause a considerable risk to a club shelling out 750k.
Tshimanga not even on bench today ....
