I don't think Brindley made enough effort to try to stop it either.
Keepers mistakes are so magnified. An attacker missing a decent chance is soon forgotten, as is a misplaced pass in midfield. An attacker who missed a virtual open goal, and a slip from a keeper both have the same result - a goal worse off than the opposition.
It does seem though that every game there's a heart in mouth moment with Sam with the ball at his feet. I think we need a safety first from him - play it around when safe, but if in doubt, boot it out!
He looks uncomfortable at the best of times with how we want him to play, but in that instance any keeper that far out from their goal must know that they’ve just got to leather it. Not that it would matter too much in the normal scheme of things but when you’re chasing 100+ points every little counts.
