Nigel Pearson sacked by Bristol City
Hopefully LW will realise he’s at a stable club with good owners and continue his managerial apprenticeship with us at least until the end of the season.
Also Bristol City have just sacked a manager who saw their star player sold pre-season and didn’t sign anyone so hopefully LW won’t go.
I heard previously that MK wanted to talk to him and the club and LW turned down the approach although Bristol City are a far better proposition he will do the same if approached 🤞
I see Joey Barton left Brizzle Rovers last week
I can't see LW going anywhere. He knows he won't be given the time to implement his style. He will be stuck with somebody else's ****e & under pressure straight away to improve results. He could be sacked after 6 games if things didn't go right. As we know fans are a fickle bunch & chairmen don't like fans turning on them
I think one of the biggest things in our favour in keeping hold of LW is that he has already experienced what can happen to a manager at a club that isn't as well-run as ours. At Swindon he was ultimately the scapegoat for an already chaotic situation, and he's intelligent enough to know that all that glistens is not gold when other clubs come calling.
If Luke's head is turned by offer from elsewhere then I don't think the Reedtz brothers would stand in his way like Derek Pavis once did to no avail when Bolton wanted Sam Allardyce. They will know that the best thing to do in that situation is negotiate for as much compensation as possible and invest it in attracting the next up-and-coming talent, because there's no point hanging on to someone who wants to be elsewhere, but I think it would take a pretty stonking opportunity for LW to risk relinquishing what he has at Notts, on and off the pitch.
No manager is immune to a new challenge with a hefty payrise involved ...!!! Fingers crossed that maybe LW could possibly be that exception to the rule...
Luke second favourite for Bristol City job…..

I hate to say it, but Bristol City seems pretty much the perfect opportunity for our Luke. An obvious step up, but not so big he'd be out of his depth, plus he knows the club already.
Personally, I think he'd be better equipped to move on to the next step if he stuck around here for a year or two more, but I would totally understand if this one appealed to him.
As others have said, Luke clearly understands that we have something special going on here, but everyone has a price.
Funny how you never see Mansfields Stockports or Wrexhams managers linked highly to vacant jobs
